Consolidation at the vendor tier of the market has continued with data protection and backup management player Atempo being snapped up by ASG Software Solutions.

Atempo has a UK office and channel and is in a further 12 locations globally selling into vertical markets where backup and archiving are in demand and its management view the undislosed deal as an opportunity for growth and expansion into the cloud.
“Our backup and archiving solutions add depth and efficiency to ASG’s portfolio,” said Atempo CEO Michael Wall. “ASG provides Atempo a platform for growth and expansion into the cloud market and a wider global reach.”
Arthur Allen, president and CEO at ASG, said that the combination of explosive data growth and ever increasing compliance regulations meant that management was an area of growth.
