The future of entertainment and information delivery is being redefined by the promise of ultra-high bandwidth and near-zero latency. In the 6G era, the traditional boundaries of broadcasting will dissolve, giving way to a world of immersive, volumetric content that can be streamed instantly to any device, creating a seamless fusion of physical and digital storytelling for a global audience.

6G Innovation Shaping Future Telecom Networks

The transition from the current 5G landscape to the nascent world of 6G represents a monumental shift in the fabric of global connectivity. By integrating artificial intelligence directly into the network architecture and exploring the untapped potential of the Terahertz spectrum, the next generation of wireless technology will bridge the gap between physical reality and digital simulation, enabling a truly hyperconnected world.

Huawei, a leading telecom solutions provider, was announced as the winner of the 2011 Femtocell Industry Award for “Progress in Commercial Deployment” for its development of China Unicom’s 3G Inn wireless broadband service based on Huawei’s end-to-end Femtocell solution. The Femtocell Industry Awards are held each year by the Femto Forum to recognize outstanding contributions to the ecosystem.

Through China Unicom’s 3G Inn flagship service, Huawei’s end-to-end Femtocell technology enables fixed-mobile broadband convergence service for a network capacity of over millions of end users. To date, China Unicom’s Femtocell network provides coverage for more than two thirds of China’s provinces.

“We are proud to be recognized for our Femtocell solution, which helps to extend the mobile broadband experience to enterprises and home users,” said Ying Weimin, President of SingleRAN Solution, Huawei. “With our partner China Unicom, we have demonstrated our solution’s ability to provide excellent mobile broadband coverage, as well as its effectiveness in improving network capacity and efficiency in seamless operation with existing 3G networks.”

Huawei’s end-to-end Femtocell solution uses Access Points, Security Gateway, Access Gateways, and OSS to provide effective 3G/HSPA+ access for small offices and home offices, enterprises and families. Femtocell can also be deployed to improve indoor and outdoor hot spot coverage and capacity. Femtocell is easy to transport, install and run, enabling operators to effectively decrease site creation/installation costs, while improving access and driving profitability. As of the first quarter of 2011, Huawei has deployed over 50 Femtocell networks around the world.
