leading Russian telecommunications company MegaFon and SAP CIS, the leader on the enterprise applications market have signed a memorandum on strategic partnership envisaging the first implementation in Russia of the cutting edge SAP S4/HANA IT system.
The cost of system implementation, including acquisition and installation, which will also involve replacing server equipment, will be approximately 1.5 billion rubles over three years.
Over the coming three years the companies will work together on MegaFon’s digital transformation. This business transformation includes implementation of the cutting edge S4/HANA suite. The project will involve re-engineering MegaFon’s ERP system and reorganizing and simplifying existing business processes. For example, the company will implement a highly automated management system for technical maintenance and servicing of network equipment, which is expected to ensure cost savings thanks to more rational planning and resource assignment. One of the notable results of system implementation will be the switch to using the more modern and convenient Fiori-based user interface.
MegaFon and SAP will also develop new products and train staff in areas such as customer experience management, business profitability analysis using Big Data, staff management, modernization of interfaces and mobile solutions, technical maintenance and repair and also the Internet of Things. Project support will be on a contract basis using premium SAP Active Global Support services and custom solutions from SAP Consulting.
