SSI-Monaco together with Inmarsat Global Government is honored to provide all satellite communication requirements for the 2017-2020 Monaco Explorations Campaign under the direction of HSH Albert II of Monaco.
This ambitious oceanographic research project will take place upon the Yersin, an exceptional vessel designed for adventure, science and education.
Public awareness is an essential component of Monaco Explorations, being able to educate the public about the threats that the seas face is critical to the campaign’s success. In order to accomplish this, SSI-Monaco will provide all satellite communication services. SSI-Monaco is an official partner of Inmarsat Global Government and as such will utilize the state of the art satellite communication services that Inmarsat can provide to meet the communication requirements of Monaco Explorations.
Due to the speed, reliability, resilience and global coverage of Inmarsat’s Global Express service, scientists and research staff on board the Yersin will be able to send videos and data of their scientific findings and connect via press, TVs and social media from any location the vessel may travel to.
Unlike explorations of the past, the Yersin and its crew will always be ‘connected’ providing up to the minute progress reports as well as peace of mind to family at home. Crew will also be able to connect with family and friends using Inmarsat’s ISAT-2 satellite phone. And in case it should ever be needed Inmarsat’s Fleet Broadband service will provide additional backup.
