The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) announced that nine new companies and organisations have joined the industry association representing the global 4G and 5G mobile ecosystem. In 2020, GSA has so far welcomed Approve-IT as a new Ordinary Member, and eight new Associate Members including French regulator ARCEP and the Singaporean regulator IMDA. In March 2020, GSA also expanded its Executive Committee with the addition of ZTE as an Executive Member alongside Ericsson, Huawei, Intel, Nokia, Qualcomm and Samsung.
New GSA Member, Approve-IT is one of the most experienced and trusted regulatory compliance partners in the world. Among the new Associate Members are vendors from across the industry, including areas such as C-V2X, IoT and cyber-resilience. ARCEP and IMDA join regulators from Australia, Canada, Ireland, Mexico and the European Communications Office as GSA Associate Members.
“5G is transforming industries, bringing RF connectivity to new processes, systems and devices,” said Filipe Laboissiere e Cunha, Approve-IT. “Whether it’s new medical IoT equipment, robotic manufacturing processes or connected vehicles, every device must be certified before it can be connected to an operator’s RAN or an enterprise’s private 5G network. The insights we gain from being a Member of the GSA are unrivalled – not only access to the latest market data on spectrum, networks, technologies and devices, but also the ability to be right at the heart of the vendor community as it works together to deliver on the 5G promise.”
“The global mobile industry is not only highly competitive, it’s also highly collaborative,” said Joe Barrett, President, GSA. “5G doesn’t belong to one company or country; there is a whole ecosystem of regulators, vendors and operators who are working together to drive global harmonisation of spectrum, innovation in networks and devices, and new use cases for 5G in both consumer and enterprise markets. We’re delighted to welcome more GSA Members and Associate Members and look forward to continuing to build the mobile ecosystem of the future together.”
GSA Associates get full access to all GSA resources including detailed industry reports and access to the GAMBoD databases from which GSA reports are compiled, as well as promoting their own white papers and business via the GSA web site. GSA Members also benefit from participation in GSA Working Groups as well as driving GSA messaging and programs.
