Qtel and Commercialbank of Qatar today signed a new agreement that will enable customers to make Qtel payments and order top-ups via the innovative CBQ Mobile Banking facility.

Through the agreement, customers who access the free downloadable mobile banking application can enjoy secure and convenient payment solutions for Qtel services. They will be able to buy a full range of Top-Ups, including Hala, Dawli, Ebhar and Broadband top-up vouchers, which can be downloaded instantly to their mobile phone.
Customers will also be able to pay Qtel bills, and check to see which bills have been paid, and which are still outstanding, by accessing the mobile application.
Dean Proctor, EGM, Retail & Consumer Banking, Commercialbank of Qatar, said: “We launched Mobile Banking services as part of the Bank’s overall philosophy of striving to exceed customer needs and to provide innovative and customer-led banking solutions. Today’s agreement extends that support. Commercialbank customers can now pay their Qtel bills, check their accounts, and download top-ups securely and easily using their mobile phones.”
Commercialbank’s Mobile Banking Service gives customers instant connectivity to accounts anywhere, anytime using the browser on their mobile devices. The addition of Qtel payments means that customers can manage an even broader range of services than ever before.
Mohammed Saleh Al Marri, Chief Sales & Services Officer, Qtel said: “As part of the Qtel Customer Charter, we strive to make payment services as convenient and accessible as possible, to ensure total transparency for Qtel customers. Extending mobile payment services through the CBQ Mobile Banking service delivers even greater accessibility for our customers, supported by world-class levels of security.”
Commercialbank’s Mobile Banking facility is compatible with all kinds of mobile phones including iPhone, Blackberry and over 1,000 different types of Internet-enabled phones.
Qtel continues to extend the range of payment and customer service options for its customers, through partnerships with leading local businesses, and by growing its own range of payment and service solutions.
